Water baptism is a Christ centred practice that involves the full immersion of a believer in water to publicly declare a person's faith in Jesus. Not only that water baptism is:
-
Symbolism
Baptism symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the believer's identification with Christ. Being immersed in water represents the death and burial of the believer's natural self, especially sin, and rising from the water represents their resurrection to a new life in Christ.
-
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Romans 6:1-4

Is a part of our discipleship
Jesus was baptised himself and his parting words to his disciples were:
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Matthew 28:19-20
- Jesus knows the significance and power of water baptism for His disciples (which includes you), so he asks us to be water baptised to walk in new life with Him.
- Water baptism in scriptures is not "christening" a baby, but it is choice for a consenting believer.
- Finally, water baptism is a powerful witness of your faith to show you are no longer a slave to sin, but you have been purchased at a high price (Christ's sacrifice) and now you are bonded to Him in love.
So if you would like to make this next step in your walk of faith, we would be so honoured to baptise you. As this is often a marking moment for people watching others (you) getting baptised, we encourage you to invite family and friends to witness this special event & see what the Lord may do in their hearts to perhaps prompt them towards Him as well.
